Elden Nelson also known as The Fat Cyclist is an influencer who covered his quest to lose weight through cycling, his wife’s battle with cancer and his commentary on professional cycling.  When The Fat Cyclist wrote a blog about why he deserved a spot on the RadioShack Pro Cycling Team, 9x Tour de France coach and general manager of Team RadioShack responded with a fundraising challenge. With the help of sponsor giveaways from companies including Trek Bicycles, The Fat Cyclist raised over $130,000 in less than 10 days (with no paid media), earning a trip to the RadioShack Pro Cycling Team’s training camp.  His journey was documented in a four-part webisode series and was also featured on his blog.  Elden's introduction to the World Bicycle Relief led to a continued partnership where he became an official ambassador, raising millions of dollars for WBR that resulted in tens of thousands of bikes for underprivileged communities in Africa.
